Pepper Mutton Recipe
A rich and robust dry mutton dish, infused with the bold flavor of black pepper.
THE METHOD
Let's make it.
- 01
Heat oil in a pressure cooker or heavy-bottomed pan. Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
- 02
Add ginger-garlic paste and green chilies, sauté for a minute until fragrant.
- 03
Add mutton pieces and turmeric powder. Sauté until mutton is sealed and changes color.
- 04
Stir in Qureshi's Pepper Masala and salt. Mix well. Add about 1/2 cup of water, cover, and cook until mutton is tender (approx. 20-30 minutes in a pressure cooker after first whistle, or longer in a pan).
- 05
Once mutton is tender, if there's excess water, cook on high heat until it evaporates and the masala coats the mutton well.
- 06
Add curry leaves if desired and cook for another minute.
